No, we haven't been swept away by floods!

Though we NEARLY were! It rained and it rained and it rained. (Piglet had never seen so much rain...) Besides watching the rain and drinking cups of tea today with Max's Friend's Mommy, who came over to play in the rain, I have been cleaning house and yard.

Pottering in the garden? Not quite. I went out there armed with a cutlass and clippers, and declared war on foliage. Unfortunately, our bush has been taking self-defence classes, and retaliates with spines, stingers and caustic sap. Whole battalions of fire ants lie in wait, and drop into one's bra when least expected. I also dug ditches, re-set flagstones on our path, and hauled whole small trees away. Then I scrubbed the back porch with bleach to kill the moss. Not very eco-friendly, but hey.

By the way, all this is great exersize! Want to get fit? Come on down!

Um. Anyway, inside the house is getting the same treatment. Everything has been turned upside down and inside out, which means that I am creating more mess than anything but WHEN I AM DONE!!! All I need is a day without the kids here so I can go through their room and toss stuff out.

It's been several days now. I can think of many things I would rather be doing. But when I am through, I hope to be able to walk through my house without falling over a stack of books. Already, we know where our shoes are and can even reach them without knocking over a pile of random stuff! And the kitchen! You can open the food cupboard and SEE stuff! But I won't tell you what I found behind the fridge. Eew.

Send good de-cluttering and anti-cobweb vibes.

It has to be something totally disgusting for you to say eww.
It's been raining pretty steadily here too for the past month. Strange weather.

Oh man, I'm about to embark on the same sort of mission next week when school starts. Power to you!

I see the procrastinating is done. And that WAS the hard part - getting the procrastination taken care of. Right?

YAY YAY YAY for cleaning and de-cluttering! Isn't it wonderfully rewarding?! I have ingredients I had forgotten, like PHOLOURIE MIX when I did my cupboard today :)

Fire ants in the bra! Ouch!

Wanna come clean my house next?

After this, I will never want to clean again. But you can try this: my sister swears that I leave heaps of laundry on chairs, so that if anyone comes to visit they have to fold laundry before they can sit down. It seems to work, and it doesn't stop friends from visiting!

Come do me next? I hate cleaning and I am no good at it!

That's the only workout I ever get, but I agree it's a good one. I can work up quite a sweat!!
