If I Knew You Were Coming I'da Baked A Cake....

Internetties, phase one of The Great Huge Wedding Cake Extravaganza is a success!!

Sharon and Chris fell in love over a carrot cake, (awwwww!) so this was the obvious choice for their wedding partay. I make a mean cake, Claudie's recipe, packed with walnuts, raisins, fresh nutmeg, and CARROTS!

Now for the frosting. Cream cheese, Sue's original recipe. So far, no volcano! Best of all, Sam and Max are really enthusiastic to help me and we all know how great it is to have small boys helping when you're trying to frost a wedding cake!

We are all packed up, and leaving tomorrow. We've promised to bring the sun to England. I'm all geared up to discuss wedding preparations with my skin-and-blister, Ailis, who's wedding is in January. Hey little sister, I still think a volcano cake would be a really cool idea!

Does anyone have ideas for medieval table centres? Something original?

This blog is quickly turning into a wedding planner's dream!

Yes I'm sorry to say you will be leaving one wedding to plan another, except all the planning has to be done a million miles away from the actual venue! =P

Trinidad loses - England gains. I still don't know how you leave Paradise, but hey, I guess you gotta do what you gotta do. The nice thing is you can do THIS - this blog - from anywhere. Safe journey, sweet lady - you and Sean and your great sons.
Ooooh, a witches head on a stick as a centrepiece.

I don't like cake but that looks delicious.

Oh, REAL carrot cake is divine--none of that pansy-cake mix crap for me! And the heart shape is so romantic;)
Naturally, when I think of thematic wedding centerpieces, I think of shields and maces--perhaps each guest draws a symbol on their centerpiece "shield" with markers--a keepsake for the couple?
I'm impressed at how you're keeping all your balls in the air!
