I Just Don't Know Where To Begin...

So I'll choose a random point mid-way.

So I arrived at Margo's this morning to find her taking allllll of her pills out of their blister packs and sort of putting them randomly into the box that says 'Night' and the Day box, M T W T F S S... and I believe she took some, so I quickly HID most of the pills (ooh! look! I said, pointing, and when she looked I swiped them off the counter into my bag) and just left her with the DAY box, as per doctor's orders. With proper new doses. Then I wrote notes and stuck them on things, like, "Don't Touch! Nan will fix this!" and "I Love You!" and "I will be here at ten o'clock every day!" And she said "I have to take my pills", and I said "You did, see, the Friday box is empty" and she said "It's Saturday"... So there will be much old-people news in the near future. I left her with a plate of baked chicken and things, saying "I'll never be able to eat all of this", and me saying "That's okay, you can save some for later", and Margo proceeding to eat it all.

This is what happens when an old person insists they don't need help, you have to help them yourself while pretending not to.

So that's the old people news of the day.

In young people news, I am going to a Dave Matthews concert tomorrow!!! Squeeee!!!!!!!!

My sister and her husband are coming to baby(and old person)sit, and the boys are thrilled. They adore Ailis, and think that Dan is THE COOLEST. So they won't miss ME!

And really, that is all the blogworthy news here.

My wife's Mum is in a Memory Care Center not far from us - and we can understand your lovely Margo. Annie is there several times a week - it isn't necessary for her to be there more often, as there is staff available at all times to render assistance, see to meds, etc. I am so glad she can be there for her Mum - her stories of her encounters sound much like what you and Margo experience.

DAVE MATTHEWS!!!! "Crash Into Me" - my FAVORITE!!!

Interesting comment about tulsi. I have a tulsi mala, but I didn't make it. Interesting about the meat, and the karma. I'd like to learn more. I heard about tulsi from Indian people I know. I have a large tulsi garden in my backyard and it is growing beautifully, about 15 plants but I am going to add much more. This year I had a few problems with bugs, but I removed the bugs, sprayed the plants with a neem oil mix, and gave them some love and kisses, and now they are all doing great, except 1 didn't survive. They seem to respond to love more than other plants I have had. They bring out more love in me. They are so special to me, I can't really explain it. I also eat the raw leaves constantly.

What she doesn't know is... It is an expensive business importing babysitters from far distant lands!! We have to forge vast motorways, climb great hills, battle fiery dragons...

We may need an advance!!! He he he... =P

On a more serious note. I am dismayed that Margo seems to be loosing her marbles. I guess she has held out very well until now and I hope I am as lucid as she was at 90-something. And at least this fierce holding onto her independence means she is not ready to throw in the towel as yet, which is encouraging.
