Plastique, Aaaaargh!



Bottled water is so dumb. I'm ranting about plastic at GNM Parents.

...although it can be awfully nice when you're traveling... just sayin'. I agree it's overused, and will never forget the shock, disbelief, and disgust when I overheard a mother in an American mall tell her daughter not to drink from the drinking fountain because it was "dirty water." AUGH! She has no idea, does she?

It's one of the things we do in our family- drink tap water only and carry reusable water carriers (look for the safe ones that don't leach plastic into the water). Saves LOTS of money in the process. Did you know consumers pay more for bottled water than for an equivalent amount of gas for the car!

It is SO SO SO frustrating!!!
Today my mother in law and I went golfing. I packed us each a stainless steel bottle of water for our outing. I handed her one and she looked at me a little surprised, but you know what? Sometimes you just have to interrupt a person's inclination to BUY what they can get for FREE and hand them the water from home. She thought it tasted fine.
Yes, Grandmother--that statistic about the cost of bottled water is staggering--and people just DON'T GET IT!!!

I've been a dedicated tap water drinker all my life..I don't even drink the cold water out of the fridge. (I'm going to be one of those folks who die from all the toxins you get drinking from the garden hose! :-) ) We need to get back to the old days when life was wayyy simpler.
