This website was invented many years ago, when the author kept coming across interesting things in pockets whilst doing laundry. Like small, terrified reptiles. Blogging about raising children in the rainforest, moving them to the UK and watching them leave home one by one to have their own adventures has gradually been replaced by a return to grownup life for their mother, Nan Sheppard, who is an anthropologist, writer and public international law consultant.

I congratulate Trinidad/Tobago. I console the US, since I have a terrible fear that I know who the first woman president will be.
Congratulations! Another country added to the list of Successfully Run By Women Leaders! Oh, dear, U.S., when will you get with the times?
Congratulations, T&T. As for the US? As long as it ain't Hillary or Old Sure Shot, a woman President is fine with me. Oh. And she should be HOT, too. Just because.
Kamla's speech today, accepting her new responsibilities, was full of reference to being a Mother, Grandmother and Wife.
I am also convinced that the stuff that is going on in Jamaica which blew-up the day before our election, made a lot of 'undecided' voters, and wavering PNM supporters realize that we are close to that here.
The PNM is too cozy with the Bad Boys, and that became a very worrying thing overnight.
LOU!
Very exciting ... my good friend from Trinidad, who writes Lifespan of a Chennette, also seems quite interested in the regime change.
