Bloggers of the world, WHAT is with the spam comments? Is it Chinese? What is their point? If you click on the link (I did, twice, just to see) you get a blog page with nothing. brand new, like invented yesterday. I don't get it. Is it a program designed to annoy?
I'm still getting 'em, even with comment moderation on, about one a day or more. Are y'all having this problem?
What to do?
This website was invented many years ago, when the author kept coming across interesting things in pockets whilst doing laundry. Like small, terrified reptiles. Blogging about raising children in the rainforest, moving them to the UK and watching them leave home one by one to have their own adventures has gradually been replaced by a return to grownup life for their mother, Nan Sheppard, who is an anthropologist, writer and public international law consultant.

Yes - i get them all the time. I'd like to know how they're getting through the captcha thing.
you shouldn't click the links..probably just fishing for active blogs so that they can add you to the database and keep spamming and collecting ip addresses and emails to sell to other marketers
Oh yeah, I didn't think of that! Crap!
I haven't had any but my blog is small and I'm on a Mac. We get virtually no spam in email, do you think it's also less on blogs?

"aurboa": Amazonian subspecies commonly used by the indigenous people as a canoe propulsion device.
I hate SPAM too, I'd rather ham or turkey. SPAM is a delicacy in Hawaii for some reason. Did you know that? But they also eat poi, so who knows.
Why are you looking at me like that?
:)
I get them, too. At first I thought it was a Chinese cry for help. But I see them on other people's too and I believe it's spam. I delete them.
NEVER click on those links. That's their schtick.
My current favorite are the UPS notices. To my anonymous email acct.
I am getting a notice from Dell about a free computer they just need my address to deliver. Or some such crap. I've never clicked on it, but it's definitely spam.
