Letter from Boarding School

Ahh, Boarding School...
"One dormitory used to lock the other borders out, so they settled it with a fight. Two prefects were there, and there was a roll-call to see that all the fighters were there... it was a lovely fight. Pat Grant was in it, and he fought well, considering his size..."

"I hope Podge is alright, I miss him a lot..." Aww, that's you Pappi. I miss you a lot too. XX

I enjoyed this one even more than the love letters! Old letters are wonderful! I must find the one from my Grandpa Mac where he drove the train to San Fernando!! Thanks for starting my morning off with a smile!

Very interesting.
Didn't know there was a boarding school in Barbados. Was it regular for kids to be sent there instead of up to England in those days? Being away but not so far away seems nicer for kid and child.
I love the quaintness of 'Master Pat'
=)

These letters are fascinating. I love 'em. Personally, I think you and your family should set up a "Shadow Monarchy", similar to the "Shadow Cabinet" the Labour Party now finds itself occupying. All you need to do is figure out who among you is the King/Queen/Proper Head of State. I vote for you. Oh. Wait. Are you going to allow voting?
