Happy Weekend!

It's another sunny day! I've been working during the week, but the long, sunny evenings mean evenings at the beach and hanging out, so it's been okay. The kids have been putting in some serious relaxation and swimming in the sea and enjoying their friends. And sleepovers. And lots of food. I caved after the beach on Thursday night and bought a metric tonne of fried chicken for the hordes, and it was hoovered up hungrily.

We watched the Olympics' opening ceremony last night and got SO excited right at the beginning when we caught a glimpse of Mole and Ratty messing about in boats at the source of the Thames. All of the little literary hints were fun, and we stayed up right to the end. Except for Max, who was curled up and snoring by 'Aruba'. In the wee hours of the morning, he hopped into my bed and whispered, "What did I miss?!?"

I dropped Chas to school today, he's off on a camp with a busload of boys and girls and they are going to have the BEST time. The girls have much more luggage than the boys!

Sam has been having a videogame fest, so he's very happy. The three boys are getting tanned and beachy.

I have a list of things to do today: Post office (pop into friend who lives nr post office for a cuppa), return overdue books at library (borrow more books), writing jobs (see ongoing posts at Work Your Way, a fab resource site for freelancers!), forms to fill in,  a house to clean, laundry to do, sons to snuggle, shopping, queries to send, beaches to visit, sunshine to soak in.

So I'd better get on with it! What is your weekend bringing?

A&E Visit Log: Still 0! Slight injuries only, sustained in the usual ways.

Sound like such a full, fun weekend. I really like your priorities! The kind that grow boys into good men. Good for you, Nan! I cleaned up the last of the vestiges of Kahlil's visit and got sad. I'm looking for my next life experience to throw myself into and I'm confident one will emerge.
