We've been busy!
Here is one of the pieces I finished this week (at least I think it's finished, I will look at it on friday and see). It's mixed media, watercolours with oil and chalk pastels. I like! I dropped another one to the frame shop since I have a buyer interested.
Buddy, Stinky and Chicken Soup are doing really well. We bought soy formula yesterday because Sean's net search had a few sited that said some opossums are lactose intolerant. I was also advised (thank you, Detta) to add a speck of Amoxycillin antibiotc to their feed for a few days, so they had that last night and this morning along with a little egg yolk (hard boiled) mixed in.
We had a scare with little Stinky yesterday evening. We stopped at the mechanic on the way home, and told him very knowlegeably that "The fan belt seems to be slipping". "Ah", he said, nodding, "A funny noise!" We took the manicous out to feed them, while Paul rooted around in the bonnet, and Stinky was cold and lethargic.
"Nooo! Mah babies! They are dying one by one!" In desperation, I did what any good marsupial Mama would do: I tucked Stinky into my shirt to warm her up. She quickly recovered, and curled up in my cleavage. We headed home with our fan belt all tightened up. Chatting tiredly.
Suddenly, there was silence in the car followed by an "EEeeewww!" and then "I smell shrimps. No, somebody farted! No, EEEEeeewww!" yes, folks, manicou poop. In my brasierre. Having pooped, Stinky felt much better and moved over to my armpit where she wriggled ticklishly, poking her head out to look around as if to say "Who did that!?" Yup, she fits right into our family.
So all is well, the babies are eating hungrily and seem to prefer soy, Sharon and I are creatively exhausted, the boys are having a ball at sailing camp. Sharon and I are heading to my brother's house this morning to help with the continued unpacking project there. Hopefully we will get to babysit Alex too!
