This website was invented many years ago, when the author kept coming across interesting things in pockets whilst doing laundry. Like small, terrified reptiles. Blogging about raising children in the rainforest, moving them to the UK and watching them leave home one by one to have their own adventures has gradually been replaced by a return to grownup life for their mother, Nan Sheppard, who is an anthropologist, writer and public international law consultant.

I signed the petition - now you write an Haiku.
a woman came by my school this week to talk with my students about the sea turtles. she brought photos from Trini! she talked about their plight, and put it all in a way that 1st and 2nd graders could understand and take in. thank you for getting the word out, Nan.
I find this so unnerving, discouraging and disgusting! Having these sacred totems slaughtered makes me despair for our species. I signed.
Done, hon! Will post about the issue later this week.
You definitely get my signature!
I have come across leatherback carcasses where just one or two fins have been taken. A bloody disgusting waste! Shame on you Trinidad!
