Someone laughing their head off!
That is all.
This website was invented many years ago, when the author kept coming across interesting things in pockets whilst doing laundry. Like small, terrified reptiles. Blogging about raising children in the rainforest, moving them to the UK and watching them leave home one by one to have their own adventures has gradually been replaced by a return to grownup life for their mother, Nan Sheppard, who is an anthropologist, writer and public international law consultant.

The English weather have you stuck in the house? Hmmmmm? Cabin fever got you? Is that it? Or is it that Chas and Sam have whittled your sense of humor down to ... that.
You realize, of course, you are far to far away to rescue.
Not at all! Just got back home, after our Solstice party here and Christmas in London. It was GREAT! Chas and Sam the intrepid adventurers left on a 'plane for Trinidad on Christmas morning and are so happy there. Max and I have been hanging out with cousins.
Came back home tonight with Ailis (sister) and Daniel, and little elves did not tidy the house while we were gone but we are in such a state of silliness that corny jokes make us cry with laughter. Max is enjoying being the only Sheppard boy. He is refusing to go to bed.
It's COLD! Heating on 'ALL'.
Hmm...Too much nog?
I’ve just heard from a friend in central Minnesota.
He says it has been snowing heavily for three days now.
His wife has done nothing but stare through the window.
If it doesn't stop soon he’ll probably have to let her in.
