Hello! I'm Nan Sheppard, an anthropologist with a masters degree in international law. This website was born way back in 2007, when my kids were little and I kept coming across interesting things in their pockets. Like terrified reptiles, or centipedes, which my sons had determined were appropriate pets. Raising children in the rainforest of Trinidad and the UK, and watching them leave home to have their own adventures, has gradually been replaced by a return to grownup life. Welcome!
